New to the game

Punch a tree. Last until morning. Then decide what kind of player you are.

Minecraft is a sandbox: there is no required plot. Survival asks you to gather, craft and not die. Creative hands you infinite blocks. Multiplayer is where the game becomes a social world — Realms for friends, or public servers with their own rules.

Two editions matter. Java is the original PC game, home of mods. Bedrock is the cross-play edition on consoles, mobile and Windows. Same universe, different plumbing.
