From a tree to a diamond pick.

• Punch a tree. Turn logs into planks and sticks.
• Craft a crafting table and put it down.
• Wooden pickaxe, then mine cobblestone.
• Stone pickaxe, axe and sword.
• A shelter with a door or a block you can jump, before the first night.
• Coal, charcoal or a furnace, and enough torches that the corners stay lit.
• A bed: three wool and three planks. Sleep in it.
• Cook food. Raw meat is a worse plan than it looks.
• Smelt iron. Make an iron pickaxe, a bucket and a shield.
• Find diamonds at about Y −59 with that iron pick. Don’t dig straight down.
• Diamond pickaxe. Enchanting can wait until you have lapis and bookshelves.
